IRONMAN

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Or is it Superman? No.......it's Ironman!!! Hahaha. Just came back from the cinema from watching Ironman. It was the 7.45pm. movie in Cinema 9, seat G10....hehe...still remember as I just came back. It was quite an interesting movie....Robert Downey Jr. plays the character Tony Stark, wealthy industralist who creates and produce weapons for US military...(spoilers ahead...) He lives as the rich playboy ladies man but he is also a genius in creating super-high tech weapons. Tony flies to Afghanistan for a new weapon demostration called Jericho which by the way causes super destruction. On his way back to his plane, his convoy is attacked by terrorists, and Tony is wounded by his very own Stark Industries missile. He is captured and held hostage in a cave with Yinsen (Shaun Toub), a doctor who saves his life by planting some sort of magnetism device connected to a generator to his heart. The terrorists force Tony and Yinsen to reproduce the new destructive Jericho missile Tony was demonstrating from parts of other weapons. Using his own intelligence and creating a new kind of suit of armour with Yinsen's help he escaped....but unfortunately Yinsen died. The suit gives Tony the strength and protection to be able to escape the terrorists. Back in America, Tony builds a better suit of armour which gives him superhuman strength with the ability to fly. It was pretty cool to watch all the acts he does and also the kinks and failures of his armour before he finally suceeds. This prove to us nothing comes without hardwork and with the help of his personal assistant Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow) and Air Force Lieut. Colonel Jim Rhodes (Terrence Howard), Tony will do anything to save the world from mass destruction or maybe from his very own creations? Of course the movie ends with Robert Downey Jr. saving the day and every superhero movie must end with a BANG!!! I really like the storyline and it was really exciting to see all the actions and Robert Downey Jr. is definitely a very great actor because he plays this role really well....I really like the armour too with it's very supercool colours and functions....bright red and gold titanium. I've never read the comics before but the movie ws really cool to me. Stan Lee makes a special apperance too as usual with women all flocking around him...(He is the comic creator....I think) This movie also shows us that war causes only harm to all of us....Weapons of destructions can only create more destructions even if it is to protect ourself from terrorists or harm....Tony Stark realised this in the movie and tries to salvage and correct his own mistakes. This is so true especially now in this world...we DONT need weapons of destructions we need peace and harmony.....So world peace everyone!!!!

Also, Angelyn, my friend just came back from Canada for a break from her university studies and she also bought me a souvenir....it's some sort of a totem pole and is really nice. Angelyn went out with us to watch the movie and I really haven't seen her for so long....So thanks Angelyn for the gift......very special.....thanks for bringing back one. Okay got to go...my mum is urging me to give her computer back to her....tata......Watch Ironman....You'll love it.

Hello again.....

It's funny that I have nothing to say in one moment and lot's to say in another. I have a feeling that when I say I have naught to say about I tend to keep going and PooF! I got millions of things to say. That's usually what happens here doesn't it? So I shall move on and start doing my thing...mumbling around and crapping.

You see last week, I went to the Penang PC Fair...if you guys don't know what it is, it's actually a fair with lots of electronic stuff....(haha...I made you more confuse didn't I?) Okay, actually PC Fair is some sort like a sale of electronic products such as laptops, cameras, earphones, anti-virus programs, printers and discs...basically it's things that got to do with computers. I'm not much of a computer expert and you can say I'm pretty dumb when it comes to computers...all I know is to use the basic Microsoft programs and some pretty basic stuff like surf the net and play games. So you can see me in awe of all sorts of electronic products which I can't even afford to buy...espicially those ultra-modern and technologically advanced laptops....my mouth is salivating thinking of owning one. Unfortunately, I still can't afford one as I haven't collected enough $$ to buy one....soon I know I can afford it...soon......

I actually did buy something there. A computer mouse, earphones and some discs. The computer mouse was so cute, I couldn't resist buying it. The laptops were so suave and nice but sadly just not affordable for me yet. We walked around for some time looking at cameras too since that's actually one of the reasons we went there for Hui Ping to buy a digital camera. She finally settle on an Olympus camera which cost RM699. It was really nice and I think well worth the money she paid for. There were free gifts included in purchase of the camera too. Included in the camera was a 2GB memory card, a mini tripod, some cleaning cloth and some camera string. She and Hui Ting seriously drove a hard bargain asking for free stuff which I have to admit I would do because I'll be too scared to ask for. Their ways of haggling over the free stuff is really much to be admired. Remind me to bring them along next time I want to haggle some price over stuff or free gifts.

After that, we decided we didn't really want to go home so we went to Queensbay Mall for some window shopping. I did buy some books in Borders while we were there though. Wewent to visit a friend working there and to peek on some magazines. I couldn't resist buying books while we were there. (I'm a sucker for romance and I read lots of romance novels...I'm not afraid to admit that and I think reading them have totally help me improve my English from bad to okay)

You can say that my room is filled with books...not just romance novel mind you, I actually do read different genres of books that I find interesting. I'm the kind who actually judge a book by it's cover and really buys a book based purely on it's summary at the back or the cover. You can't really blame me considering all kinds of people get attracted by packaging...I also often will buy a book mainly because I have read the author's book and love he or hers book...such as Samantha James, Lisa Kleypas and Dan Brown....I've read almost all their books...(almost is the word here...I haven't had the chance to say all yet..) Then we went around window shopping again....walking around got us hungry so we stop by McD for something to bite on. It's the most affordable food we can think of...and it taste pretty good and of course kind of fattening but who cares as long as it's yummy. (And you wonder how I gain those kilos...haiz...) We walked in to Forever 21 to look around when we decided to try on a dress there. It was a knee-length black dress which cost around Rm150 and I didn't think I would have like it at 1st but I love it once I put it on...sadly I can't afford it. I tried it on and they say I look nice in it and I have to say black is the most flattering colour on me and the dress was empire waisted...so nice and I finally think I look pretty for once. It totally rocks and I'm thinking of buying it....I have to dig further into my purse and buy it...I have to after missing out on buying that pair of heels I've been eying and finally didn't buy because of not having it in my size anymore. I am not going to miss out on this this time...we shall see if I bought it or not.

Okay back to the topic, later when we were going home we suddenly decided we want to take some pictures. Since we parked our car on the rooftop of Queensbay Mall and the view up there was really amazing, we took out the newly purchased camera of Hui Ping and the mini tripod to use and started snapping some pretty funny and lame pictures. I have to admit it was pretty fun to do all those jumping on the rooftop and making funny faces in front of the camera. We even took some pictures near the seaside near Queensbay Mall and although it was pretty windy it was really fun and crazy....I had a great time that day...super fun....hehehe...doing crazy stuf is definitely fun......

Days of my life....

It's been more than a month since I even updated. I don't even think there are anyone reading my blog, yet I feel obligated to myself to write something to remember years later when I look back. Lot's of things had happened past this month. One very life-changing moment was the annoucement of my STPM results. Sadly, it was not very good and I have to suffer the consequences of my own actions. I have only gotten an A when I have expected at least 2A's or 3A's. Reality hurts and although I regret not studying hard enough or doing more exercises, I realised I did try my best. Right now, I should look to the future and do my best now and not dwelled on the past. Well let bygones be bygones. I try making the best of the worst and I've learnt a very harsh lesson indeed.

As you all know, I've been working for 4 months now....still going to be working till I enter university which is in July. I've tried to enjoy myself before entering this new phase of my life...going into university. The thought of it kinda freaks me out because I'm afraid of mostly not having any friends in uni and having to find friends. Well I still have three months to go to learn to be more sociable then the now reclusive and non-sociable me.

I had quite some fun time in the month of March and April besides the obvious heartbreaker (the STPM results). I went to a few places I never go before. When I say places, I mean restaurants. I dined in quite a few that I never go before thanks to my friends. You see, I'm a very kiam siap person (stingy) and try not to spend too much money. Now that I'm working I would tend splurge more it seems. I went to try the food in Pastamania....not very bad...it was okay....went to Old Town Cafe once...but I didn't drink anything because I didn't feel thirsty. You see, mostly when I go out with my friends, it's always either to eat or to the movie. I have watched a few movies, from 27 Dresses, Spiderwick Chronicles, Nim's Island, Ah Long Pte Ltd and a few more....I think I have watched a movie every week. That's my life now...pretty boring huh...but I really enjoy time spending talking to friends. We talk about almost everything including all kinds of funny stuff....that's why I feel that leaving Penang to go to university would be such a huge step because without these friends, I really feel lonely. Haven't know what university I'm going yet but hopefully it's a course that I like and can study. I almost forgot I did go somewhere this March...I went to the Tropical Spice Garden...to look at plants...hehe...I went with the school's student librarians and teachers. It was quite fun to look at so many different plants.....

On Friday, which was the 18th of April, I had a great time talking to my girl buddies again. I really like listening to their voices because somehow they make me feel like I belong somewhere. We had decided to surprise Hui Ting with a surprise birthday cake. Her birthday isn't another week to come which is on the 26th of April. We bought a blueberry cheesecake for her and I made her a bookmark and together we bought her a bag for her soon to coming days in uni. We went to have dinner in Little Cottage (once again another restaurant I haven't been before) which we sprang a surprise on her...the restaurant even played a birthday song for her...very cute song...... The food was nice and the atmosphere was warm and cozy...a little bit expensive to my taste but still affordable thankfully. After dinner, we went to New World Park and fool around a bit. Taking pictures and doing stupid stuff. Then we went to another place I haven't been before which is Jemputree for some late night drinks ( we drank till almost 1 am...well it was just non-alcoholic drinks...not to worry...hahaha).....and talk and talk and talk. We even played cards and HeartAttack and I think we were probably the noisiest bunch of girls the workers there have ever seen. It was really fun....I'm still thinking of how my future would be like...but somehow with them I don't have to worry how I'm going through it because I have friends.

I'm actually very proud of my group of friends...my sisters.....They are a very big part of my life. That's why we have to cherish every friend we have because besides our family, friends are the one to share your life with....Friends forever....Love you guys...

Just recently we had a pre STPM party ( Pics up above)...that's what I called the party...My friends say it's a party but all they talked about mostly that night was getting their results and where they are heading after that....it's a party we have to chill out....Since now we can't anymore...Well it's pre STPM party alright as STPM results are coming out in 4 days....ARghhhhh!!!! I'm not freaking out....I'm prepared actually to face the music...I've gotten ready to face the sentence for not studying and not preparing enough for STPM. I've prepared myself for the worst and try not to think too much. But what do you call this....this sense of wondering what will happen next Tuesday at 12pm (when the results are coming out)....maybe I am freaking out...and I'm thinking too much alright....I'm thinking what I might get and what will happen, how to face my mother after I got the results, wondering whether I will cry after getting the results, worrying I couldn't afford to futher my studies to some uni I like, wondering how to face people asking what I've gotten and thinking what I can study with my meager results...I'm FREAKING out BIG time alright!!!!!

This afternoon I went to fill up some petrol in my car....I don't know what happen but somehow after paying for the pewtrol and a newspaper, I walked back to my car and well forgot to fill up. I actually drove away without filling up first. Can you believe it??? I actually forgot to fill up....I don't know what happen....it's like my mind was somewhere far and wasn't with me at all....I can't believe I didn't remember either...Was I thinking too much at that time....Time seems to be zooming by and I'm in a daze...I don't know what happen....I'm actually freaking out....ME freaking out when I have taken a few public exams before?? There's one more thing. When we take the results we actually have to wear the very very ugly t-shirt the school provided us...come on it's two size too big for me...the designs are hideous and it's long sleeved...I totally hated it....This is actually too much of the school... Seriously I have to wear it or not get my results...How evil is that???

Happy Chinese New year...it's been awhile...

Yes, it's definitely been awhile since I updated my blog. I was too lazy to blog...what to do when the laziness strikes...Let's start from the beginning. January 12th, I went to Juin's house to watch a pre-recorded concert of LeeHom then we went for some dinner...in town eating koay teow soup and leng chee kang for dessert. Then we went to Haagen-Dazs (I hope I spelled it correctly). I never been to Haagen-Dazs before for the past 19 plus plus years of my life. My first time eating the famous Haagen-Dazs ice-cream. Frankly speaking, I'm someone who is really stingy and well around 20 bucks for an ice-cream would probably scream "Don't You Dare Eat It" but hey, there's always a first time for everything, so I tried it. We ordered a Chocolate fondue which is for more people and less money (remember the stingy girl here...it seems like a really great idea). It was yummy especially for me as I am a big big big fan of chocolate which is why my waistline is getting big big big too.

We did some stuff past this month. Not much since everyone is pretty busy...some of us are working (me, Hui Ping and Hui Ting), some studying (Siaw Ping, Jane, Juin, Wei Ping) We spend less time together but we try to go out as much as possible. Last week I even went to a steamboat dinner with all of them. Juin invited us to dinner with her family at Golden Gate which is a steamboat restaurant for Chinese new Year on the third day of New Year which was the 9th of February. It was pretty fun...we bought her family a hamper to thank them for inviting us. Later we went clubbing.Clubbing you say...this is only the second time I decided to join Hui Ting and Siaw Ping for clubbing. I'm not much of the clubbing kind since I detest smoking and clubs are pratically filled with smoke from cigarettes and you'll smell so digusting when you go home when you find out your whole clothes are smelly. This time it was better than last time but the club we went to was pretty crowded...actually very crowded. We went to Mois...pretty cool that we get to get in the club without having to line up as some of our friends have 'contacts' inside. We were all dressed up and dolled up with make-up...not really actually. We got to the make-up part only when we arrived there in our car and did make-up in the car. I danced more this time since I was wearing flat shoes and not heels like last time which hurt my feet badly. I had fun...was much better than the first time...although I don't really like drinking beer. Vodka with coke taste so much nicer.

Chinese New Year was on the 7th of February and like years before, I woke up and took a bath...wear some new outfit and off we go to collect angpows....what are angpows...well basically there are red coloured packets with money in it. It's a tradition these days for the married people to give some lovely red packets to those unmarried. Count yourself lucky if you are single and unmarried cos you'll be getting them...I went up to Tanjung Bungah which is where I lived years ago when I was just a little kid. (That's where my father's side of my family lives)
Exchange oranges and red packets. Eat some cookies and drink some chrysanthemum tea and talk. Then visit Rifle Range Flats where my mom's family reunites mostly. Chinese New Year (CNY) is all about reunion and reminiscence. Family and friends gather to have reunions and celebrate. This year CNY seems less important (still important just less a bit)to me....when I was a kid, I anxiously wait for this time of the year to get angpau but lately since I'm more grown-up, I look less forward to it. Considering you have to spend expenses on celebrating CNY like cleaning up the house and decorating it with anything red and bright or buying new clothes or buying drinks, oranges and food for people who visits. Don't get me wrong I still like CNY very much. Afterall, when do you experience more festive and happy celebration than CNY....there's fireworks everywhere, lion dancing, people laughing, gambling (yes, we play poker, mahjong and all kinds of card games), eating, talking, and a lot of noises. There's lots of praying to the Gods involved too. There's the praying to the Kitchen God before the CNY starts or the prayers on the birthday of the Jade emperor on the 9th day of the new year which is actually held midnight of the 8th day. Mostly only Hokkien and Teochew prays on the day and since I'm of each half, I celebrate too. This is actually probably even more festive than the first day of CNY as you can see everyone setting up altars to pray to the Jade Emperor and burning of incense and papers and the very loud noises of firecrackers everywhere. Come to think of it, I really like Chinese New Year....especially when I win a few quick ringgits in playing mahjong or cards with my cousin...haha. There's still Chap Goh Meh, the fifteen night and the last day we celebrate CNY. It is said that throwing oranges into the sea will bring you a suitor if you are single. ( I think it is pretty ridiculous these days as I imagine the sea being dirty and it is dark at night no one is going to see the oranges you throw into the sea and you probably would just pollute the sea more. This kind of thing are much more suited in the past) Anyway the government has banned the tradition too. The government banned fireworks but hey you still see fireworks on festivals don't you? Maybe some really desperate love-sick girls will try and throw some oranges just for luck....try writing your phone number and name and stick it on the orange will make whoever who found the orange find you quicker....hehe. Happy Chinese New Year again and may this year bring good health and prosperity to everyone. Oh, happy belated Valentine's Day too. It's meaningless to me as I don't even have a valentine. But to those lovers out there...all the best in your relationships and Happy Valentine's Day...

Before I forget all about Kulim, I want to write it down. I visited Kulim this year on the 2nd day of CNY and got more angpows...that's one of the main reason I follow my mom and grandma to visit relatives in Kulim...for their angpows. I didn't know Kulim has modernised so much as I haven't visited Kulim for years. I didn't even know Kulim is where St. Anne's Church and Santuary is. It was such a huge area and looks so majestic and beautiful. Kulim has really beautiful houses....bangalow and semi-detached houses that would cost at least RM 200 thousand in Penang can be found at a price less. We went through Taman Perda which has really nice houses. Even though Kulim has some modern houses, it still have huge areas of plantation such as palm oil plantation and vegetable farm. I even saw a few chicken and duck farms....the trip was worth the time after all since I get to see temples and churches, farms and buildings...It was nice to see difeerent places beside my dear old Penang. After all, I'm such a small town girl who knows nothing and it's good to learn more about different places.

News of me this past month...and today...YIPPEE

It's a brand new year...The year 2008....Having been updating for more than a month...It's all due to laziness and writers block...haha...I can't seems to write what I wanted to (I know I'm not exactly a writer but I always wanted to use that word...hehe) No more school for me as Form Six is over... It feels really weird not going to school...Kinda miss it...I miss all my friends and the non-stop chatting in class...hahaha... Just what people always say...You don't miss it until you lose it...

The final month of 2007 pass by like a breeze....Christmas Day...took a few Christmas tree photos simply because they were really nice. I didn't do much during the holidays. Basically I was lazying around like a pig (no offense to the pig), playing online games, surfing the net, watching tv and eat sleep eat sleep. Well I did go out with my friends for a movie. Not on Christmas of course since it's so bloody jammed on that day and it's eve.

Oh ya, I even went to watch a movie under the stars....pretty cool....It was fun watching Transformers sitting in a middle 0f Esplanade's field eating rojak and snacks while watching the movie.

Can't really remember much what I did the past holidays...nothing much basically.....but I did watch a couple of really good movies like Enchanted ( It was really romantic and funny...with all those songs...lalalala you feel like singingggg) and National Treasure 2 (didn't want to see it at first but it was good, the movie was pretty funny and exciting) Then on New Year's eve, I went to a barbecue...yummy I ate a lot...prawns, fish, crabs, chicken, sausages and lamb chop. It was really delicious. I even when over to Hui Ping's house as she also have a small gathering at her place and I ate even more there. Like sushi, satay, ice cream, peanuts, tidbits and I even drank wine and beer...just a few sips though...I don't really like the taste as I know what they taste like already...drank it before a few times...Well I guess I'm more of the plain water kinda girl. So now the new year 2008, currently I'm working...as a librarian in my mom's school (my mom's a high school teacher) It doesn't pay much only RM 760 but it's fine. I get holidays like on normal school days so it's okay... just that I really want the money as soon as possible...I want to spend them on more Chinese New Year clothes....yes CNY is coming and I don't really have much... So I'm needing the $$$$ to help me buy new outfits.

Right now i'm still in my nightie pajamas at 10.50a.m sitting in front of the computer blogging away. But guess what just happen like 1/2 hour ago ?? A postmen just called at my door...he's not any postmen....he's Santa Claus...hahaha...so not.....but he is definitely a bearer of good stuff. I WON !!!!!! I won a prize...1st prize for the Enchanted/ Galaxie contest....I'm so happy and was so shocked when I open the letter. It's nothing grand not like I won a trip to the Disneyland or anything but I actually won one limited edition Enchanted bracelet watch. Okay maybe the watch isn't that nice but still I won something...I remember the last time I won some stuff...you know I won a Shrek plastic file a few months ago....I'm still shocked but happy I won something. I'm putting up the photo of the prize...hehe...

It's over.....

STPM is over...finally over...I am relieved it is over yet can't help but feeling a bit remorse thinking I should have done more for my STPM examinations. I know I could have done better if I had studied earlier. That's why I said no last minute studying. Sadly I never learn from my mistakes. Regrets filled my mind but really it's no use crying over spilled milk now. I guess I should think for the future and plan what I really want to do next. Besides, the results are not yet out......perhaps just perhaps my results would turn out well?? Okay maybe that's wishful thinking but one can do naught but hope. Right now, I just want to relax and not think for a while. Right now I just want to be selfish and think for the present. Have fun and enjoy myself....rest and be happy that's all. Because I know sooner or later I will have to face the truth that nothing will work out if I don't put in an effort. I really am envious of some of my friends who score well in exams always but I know that's because they work hard for it...they give their best in it...While me I try my best too...it's just that I feel that I wasn't as hardworking as they are and I really feel guilty for it...I guess what I'm trying to say is I really am sorry for not doing all I can from the start of Form Six but I tried my best to do what I can in order to at least try my best. So now all I can do is cross my fingers and hope for the very very best......
