Lasagna for dinner....

I made lasagna today.

Can't say that it was an epic fail because except the baking part, I pretty much did everything right.

The pasta was slightly uncooked in the inside layers and I know why. It's because I didn't properly layered the sauce over the pasta sheet and it didn't provide the moisture the pasta needed to cooked perfectly.

Oh well. Uncooked aside, it was yummy with the cheese and the sauce. When you cut it out, it looks ugly though...haha. Unsuccesful attempt. Can't say the Bechamel sauce was successful at all because it pretty much sucks and was the reason the spreading of the sauce didn't turn out so well.

Next time, I'll do it better.

Kopi Cine

Reading room. Lotsa books~~~

Kopi Cine stands for Coffee Cinema or in Mandarin- Kah Fei Tien Ying

Jane's drink- Mocha something

The shop

Chicken pie...yumm!!

Lamb sausage with cannellini beans and feta cheese. Nice~~

The sheets come together with the sausage and beans.

My drink

The yummy-delicious tiramisu

Went for tea time at Kopi Cine. Tea time at a coffee shop? Kekeke. Kopi Cine is located at Stewart Lane near Chulia Street. I've actually heard of the place but if you ask me to find it, I might not found it. It's located in little streets and if not because of Ju, I wouldn't have found there's a place at the area like this.

The atmosphere is pretty nice and there's even a reading room for those bookworms like me. We went in the afternoon so it was pretty hot and humid especially these few days. Just a simple teatime outing for us to chitchat about.

Food is great albeit a bit pricey. The tiramisu is really yummy. The drink I ordered caramel with gula melaka ice-cream drink. Yummy but really sweet. For the sweet tooth only. In the menu there's a huge assortment of wine list for those wine lovers.

There are actually crayons and white paper for you to doodle on the table as the table is covered in white paper but the table we sat in does not have it. :( If there is a next time, I'll go scribble something. Hehe.

Something new to try. The food is unique. Yum~~

It's the durian season!!

It's the durian season!! I ate so much durian this season. Usually my dad don't buy much because durian is just too heaty and it's fattening...haha. But I like it anyway. Hehe.

The store at town offers so many types of durians. I never even heard of most of it. The durians here are pricey. They are nice though. Pretty yummy.

Meanwhile, the ones from my old house in Tanjung Bunga. There are 2 durian trees at the old house. Dad picked those up for us. They are really nice and yummy and best of all free!! Haha.

Tips:
1. Wash your hands with water poured into the shell of the durian. Then your hands wouldn't smell that much. I tried it. It works..haha.
2. Drink water from the shell too. Apparently it can reduce heat. ^^ Don't prick yourself with the thorns though..haha.

Food!! Manhattan Fish Market

I got lots of food post to put up. Just that I am too lazy to write about it.

This is from Manhattan Fish Market. We ate till we couldn't get it all in and had to tapau. There's even a RM10 nett deal for students still ongoing. Flash your student ID ^^

The food was not bad. The fish and chips I ordered was pretty yummy even though I ordered something else and the order came wrongly but never mind that since most of the waiters were nice enough except for one Malay guy (the one who got my order wrong..no is did not write down my order.) He made a mistake and still insist I didn't order. The other waitresses were nicer. In fact whenever we requested ketchup or mayo or a spoon, they would bring it for us.

My fish and chips...I forgot the name of the fish. I just know it's not dory. LOL

LW's was dory fish...Fish and Chips

The student price RM10 nett seafood platter with a bottomless soft drink
Being the stingy people we are, we shared a glass of Coca Cola...haha.

The Tiramisu dessert 50% with the student price package. Not so nice though.

Good meal and apparently Motorolean (Motorola's workers) get a 10% discount. I didn't know that until I saw the privileges we had on the website. Cheh...haha..or not can save more.

Chillis with my parents

With the money I got from my 1st month of internship at Motorola, I treated my mom and dad to Chillis.

Dad complained that it was too expensive. He said we could have ate 3 meals of normal Chinese restaurant dinner. The truth is it's kinda expensive haha but since it's very rarely that I ever treat them, I don't really mind.

Here's the food we ordered and the bill totaled to around RM 130 with drinks I think.

The food was just okay and I remember the last time I went with my friends that it was better last time. So far, I think for grills the best I had was at Ingolf. I still think it is more worth it there.
Extra photo: My mom and dad ^^

My first wedding dinner in Perlis.

The Sri Petani Seafood Restaurant presents to you the newly weds.

The wedding photos were very nice and it is taken in Penang. ^__^

If you really notice, you'll realise the ceiling is made of egg cartons.
Does this look like a family photo? Hehe

The bride and groom with us.
The food.

I got to go to a wedding dinner in Perlis. ^^
I'm so happy because I got to eat...haha. The food is pretty good. I love the mushroom dish.
The Diamond water boss's wedding. He invited all his workers and me, the ex-worker. ^__^
The day was rainy but I really enjoyed eating and listening to aunties and uncles singing old songs like they are singing for a competition..hehe. Of course, eating is always enjoyable. :P

Shrinking Sushi

Don't you feel that the food at Sushi King has been reduced in size?

The amount is less than usual and it's so costly for me to have a nice meal.

The meal portion is shrinking and the green tea is as diluted as water.

Balik Pulau Food Trip

Had a very satisfying, fulfilling, and belly bursting food trip at Balik Pulau today. Ju took us for a road trip around Balik Pulau today. The houses were really nice but it's a bit too far from town. If not, living there would be great. Balik Pulau seems bigger than I thought, there were many houses and plenty of area in development.

We went for a round of Pasembur at the Balik Pulau New Market with a glass of Nutmeg juice. (I forgot to take a photo though. I finish eating and only realised.) Next was a round of Laksa. This time at the Balik Pulau Old Market. The distance of the two places is around 1 to 2km away. I don't eat Asam Laksa so I had the Lemak Laksa. It was really nice except for the vege. I don't like the vege but the soup was great. (I started eating only to realise I didn't take a photo. So I took one and continue eating.)

Everyone was saying how full they were after eating Pasembur and Laksa but we ended up eating a bowl of Tau Hua. Tau Hua break!!! Hehe. Tau hua with soya bean milk and brown sugar syrup..yum yum yummy!!

It seems lately all I ever posted up are my food trips. It's the only thing I do lately actually. My life is not much fun, no travel or life changing experiences but there's always food. :)))

And here's a BIG THANKS to Ju for my very early birthday gift. A unique stainless steel bangle from Bausch K. Thank you so much. I love it and I shall treasure it. ^__^

KFC Pocketful

My lunch on Friday. A KFC Pocketful Combo. With the wrap thingy, one cheesy wedges and a drink. I was so full after eating all that. The whole thing was yummy but I find it a tad bit too expensive at RM10.65. The bacon inside the wrap was weird though. It's crispy but all burnt up. There's tacos, corns, mayonnaise, a piece of chicken, bacon and some cheese sauce inside the wrap I think.

A Toasted Pocketful...Take a bit out of the unexpected~~

Cousin's wedding

My eldest cousin from my mom's side got married. I'm second after her by the way..Haha. Well she's older by 7 years so you'll have to wait at least 7 years for me to get married. Hahaha.

It's true when people say on your wedding, you will look your best. She looks amazing. Really beautiful and her wedding photos were great. The dinner was at E&O hotel. The dinner was all vegetarian food but it was pretty nice if only a bit salty.

Here's a few shots of food and people I manage to capture. Low quality camera can't do much.

All the food is vegetarian food. I'll have to say I like the 1st dish the best. It's really nice.
Four Hot and Cold Combination
Vegetarian Szechuan SoupCrispy Vegetarian Spring Chicken
Vegetarian Salmon Fish
Braised Water Bean-curd with Broccoli and Mushroom
Vegetarian Prawns
Vegetarian Char Siew Rice

The souvenir. It's a pair of chopsticks. Can carry anywhere.
