The Last Day of 2009

...........................

My last post of the year 2009.

I was in Perlis for 5 days but I felt like I need to come back to Penang. I was miserable in Wang Ulu and moving to a different house to Level 4 Block 9 and having sucky internet connection in the house are making it worse. So the best remedy is going back to my home sweet home.

Even if there's no direct bus back to Penang after 4pm, I wouldn't care less. I rather come back than stay there for the weekend. So, I chose to take a bus to Alor Setar and then to Penang. Loo Wen and I make a decision to take an express bus which would stop at Alor Setar thinking it would be so much faster than the slow stop-at-almost-every-bus-stop bus from Kangar to Alor Setar. Instead the bus detoured to so many places in Kedah that it was so much longer that we reached later than the 'slow' bus.

Well, at least I get to go sight-seeing around parts of Kedah from Changloon to Jitra to Kepala Batas to Alor Setar. Nice detour considering the bus has comfortable seats and great air-conditioning. After that took a bus from Alor Setar to Penang. We got on almost last and have to sit at the last row. Experience a bumpy ride and I didn't even mind. The thought of finally able to get home just make me forget the hardships...hahahaha.

Got to see a very amazing sunset. The colours splashed across the skies was really beautiful. The glow given of my the sun painted the skies with reddish, yellowish, purplish, and pinkish hues. A great sunset to end the year. Got back to the island around 8.30 after 4 hours of traveling.

Can't really see it since I couldn't capture it on a fast moving bus with my slow camera phone.

Today must be a really spectacular day to have such a splendid sunset and a round yellow moonlit night. I know it's the 16th day of the month in the lunar calender so the moon is still so round. Back at home with my family to celebrate the coming new year.

Finally I'm happy....^__^

Happy New Year 2010 everyone...All the best for the coming year.

12 hours shopping trip

All the stuff we bought....there's still more actually...
...

Yes...I shopped for 12 hours including the journey from Perlis to Alor Setar and back that is. One of the most outrageous shopping trips I went too. Can you imagine driving all the way from Wang Ulu to Alor Setar? It takes roughly around 45 minutes to an hour depending on your speed and the traffic.

Went out with my course mates to Alor Setar for a shopping trip for the 1st time. They wanted to shop for clothes and shoes. The surprising thing was they end up buying RM222.20 of groceries like tissues, biscuits, water, cereals, noodles and etc. Of course we bought lots of clothes too. Not for me though, I only bought a pair of flats. I actually spent more money on magazine and a book...haha. Blame it on the bookworm I am.

It was an amazing trip considering the fact I was so tired. My very first official outing to Alor Setar. I sat buses there before but only to transit to Penang. So the place was some place that I never explored till now. Still we only went for shopping and not really exploring. Maybe one day I will go and have a look around.

Heartache

...

Every single semester, there's always the time

Where I get moody and my heart gets heavy,

Where the feeling of homesick starts days before actually leaving home,

Where I wished I was never leaving,

I miss it all before even missing it.

I'm leaving for a semester soon,

To a place I called Ulu.

A place where all I do is long for Penang.

Forlorn and solemn, it's time to say goodbye to Penang

and Hello Perlis.....T.T

Sherlock Holmes

1st of all since I have never read Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's novels, I don't exactly know what the original Sherlock Holmes is like. All I know is that he is a crime solving detective with a sidekick Dr Watson. That's pretty much what I know.

Robert Downey Jr as Sherlock Holmes and Jude Law as Dr Watson. Watching the movie on Christmas Eve. I must say as it was at night I was kind of sleepy, for one second I thought I was going to fall asleep because I was too tired. Luckily, the film kept me awake. Action packed film filled with mystery. I like the way they solve mystery with the detective works and the dialogue was very interesting. I especially love the play of words. For example, there is a time in the movie when Holmes was handcuff naked to the bed by Irene Adler (Rachel McAdams) and was found by the chambermaid.

Holmes is handcuffed to the bed naked with only a pillow covering him. A maid walks in and screams]
Sherlock Holmes: Madame, I need you to remain calm and trust me, I'm a professional. Beneath this pillow lies the key to my release.
[the maid screams again and runs away]

Did anyone get it? Hahahaha....that was funny to my perverted mind...teehee...There were many jokes in between the dialogues using the play of words that if you are fast enough to catch it then you'll realise it. Some parts were meant to be funny and some a little serious.

It was a good movie to be watch if you like actions and a slight comedy combined. The science in this movie is also pretty amazing. How people that time can mistaken science for magic because they knew too little about it. The villian in the movie, Blackwood manipulate the art of science to frighten masses of citizens and try to take over Britain. Holmes trying to find a way to stop him with help from Dr Watson. Besides crime solving, there is a story in the movie which was Dr Watson's engagement to Mary which Holmes disapproves and offended but who is actually really a nice woman. There's also the introduction of Irene Adler, who I was really surprised to be acted by Rachel McAdams, who looks really beautiful by the way. Cunning and the only person to fool Holmes twice and still managed to make him look like a lovesick fool. She has a mission to find something for a Professor Moriarty who was not seen in this movie except for his pistol and cape thus I sense a sequel coming after this. Hahaha.

So, once again Sherlock Holmes solves a crime and save Britain with the help of Dr Watson and gave us one fine show to watch. A movie well suited for the holiday seasons. Nice.

Photos to view on Hadyai

Too lazy to write...so just show you photos....the trip is written absolutely clear in the post before this. Hahaha...So if you're too lazy to read it, just a look at the photos will be enough.

Market

Food and items we bought on the 1st day

Elephant...kekeke

Thai cuisine

With Friends in Hadyai

Last Sunday, I went for a 2 days 1 night trip to Hadyai, Thailand. A long overdue holiday with friends I should say. After years of planning trips and not successfully actually going to one, we finally cajoled everyone to get into action and go on a short trip to Thailand.

I just realised how near Thailand was and why haven't we went there a single time. A 3 hours plus journey made interesting with loud laughter by the whole gang and an accident on the way to Hadyai. We reached Hadyai after that and checked into the hotel "VC Apartments". It may not be grand like hotels but they have clean rooms and enough beds for all of us for only RM80. Pretty worth it. As soon as everyone showered, the food and shopping fest begins.

Shopping is my favourite thing to do IF I have money. Fortunately I do at that very moment. After exchange Ringgits to Bahts, the 1st thing we did was eat. We came all the way to Thailand and the 1st meal we took was McD. People would be laughing at this but hey McD here is non-halal. I ate a Samurai Pork Burger. Why can't we have this in M'sia. Hahaha.

After filling up our stomach, it's Shopping Time. Walk around and around shopping malls and markets. I bought a watch and a bracelet which I love. Should have bought shoes but I didn't. Should have bought clothes but I didn't. Maybe next time...haha. What was fuuny was that all of us bought lots of daily items like shampoos and food like Pocky and Instant Mee. I think besides me and Ju all of them have bought more than RM50 of shampoos, hair stuff and food. I felt we were almost like aunties giggling away over the bargains in the supermarkets. Hahahaha.

Dinner time came by very quickly and we were off for some Thai cuisine. It was yummy. Hot, spicy and sour just the way I like tomyam. That night we didn't go anywhere but in our room fooling around. Lot's of crazy acts. Bought a couple of alcoholic drinks to drink together and sat down to play cards and watch TV. I almost fell asleep playing UNO. We end up sleeping because the game wouldn't end.

The next morning everyone was so lazy to get their butts of the bed. Tired from all the shopping yesterday but for the sake of shopping and filling our hungry stomach, we got ready. I finally bought a belt and some batik cloth for my mom. After that it was all food. Dodol, cashew nuts, crackers and biscuits. When there with a backpack and 1 sleeping bag. Returned home with 1 backpack, 1 sleeping bag, 1 sling bag and and extra packet of food. I'm not the person who bought the most, so just think of the one who bought the most. Hahaha.

Overall, it was one hell of a trip and Ifinally got to see DH on some advertisement board. I was watching the TV for his commercial but didn't catch any. Saw the Fino advertisement though. Keke...One trip with loads of laughter and teasing and jokes and sarcasm. Enough to last me till the next. When is the next trip?? Faster start planning then...

Happy Winter Solstice- Respect

Today is The Winter Solstice Festival where we all eat tang yuan or glutinous rice balls. I ate just a bowl as I don't usually like much when I was little but now I like it better...it's tolerable. Today we went to pray to my paternal grandmother. Usually a lot of my family members will come to pray together. My uncle usually bringing along his kids.

What I want to say here is about respecting your elders and your manners. Children love to play I know that but there is really a limit to joking around with elder people. My cousin who is 7 years old knows that but she is so bloody rude I feel like slapping her in the face. What I don't get is all the elders are saying she's just a kid so she likes to play around.

Hello aunties and uncles, do you call hitting people and still laughing around playing?? She keeps hitting my brother and even when my mom scold her and tell her she can't do that, she keeps doing it. WTH....she actually pissed me off and I scolded her too. I really can't stand this kind of attitude. How rude is she?? Let me continue. ...

I scolded her and she have the guts to stare at me and like dare me to hit here. If I wasn't giving face to my uncle who by the way I felt really spoiled her to the limit and should seriously give her a scolding or a beating (I don't usually agree with adults beating children because they are naughty but she needed it). A few of my aunts actually ask her to stop playing and she acted like she can do anything. For heaven's sake, if she can do this now at 7 years old, imagine when she grows up. She would probably end up a gangster..

Her parents who are both educated people should really teach her manners and respect. She is not afraid of anyone and is so rough. How many girls do you see hitting people like with actual force...not the kind that plays around. The more you scold her, the more she do it on purpose to aggravate you. I just ignored her. It was almost to my limit that I feel like really beating her and make her cry.

I'm serious....I never came this close to wanting to hit someone moreover a kid. A utterly annoying rude disrespectful kid. Someone should really teach her to be respectful. She needs it. Finally being able to rant it all out. I was that angry just now because of a stupid kid. Yes, I'm calling her stupid even if she's my cousin. I don't care.

Results *Fireworks*

Just gotten my exams results a few days earlier.

I was expecting like horrible terrible results.

Images keep flying through my mind about my own reaction when seeing it.

I got really nervous as I clicked on it.

...............................................................

#Surprise#

It was better than I have targeted.

Couldn't believe my eyes for a moment there.

I should celebrate but damn the CGPA is still low as hell.

Blame it all on the bloody 1st sem.

No use celebrating a one hit wonder.

Wait till I have a better CGPA, then I'll celebrate.

But meanwhile I'm treating myself to shopping for enduring another sem in UniMAP.

Yippee to me.

Trip to Perak

Me, Pei Mun and Siew Yin

Finally sat down to blog about my trip to Perak. Short journey there but long journey back home. I got stuck in a major bridge jam when I came home. It was so annoying knowing I was so close to home yet not yet there. ALMOST felt like jumping off the bus and swimming across. The keyword here is ALMOST...haha...

Too lazy to write a lot so I'll make it short. (When I say short, it never is...I tend to forget and just keep on writing so just bear with me) Went to visit Pei Mun whose house is in Gopeng, Perak. Siew Yin was there too on a visit. We including Pei Mun's Bf went for white coffee which was sweet and milky just the way I like my coffee just after they fetch me from the bus station. Then for lunch which was chicken rice and bean sprouts which is famous there. For those who know me would probably know I hate vege. It's getting better now as I eat more of it now unlike when I was small when I wouldn't even eat carrots. Bean sprouts is still on the hate list but I have to say I ate a few and it was not bad...I think I ate a lot in Perak. That night, Pei Mun's mom took us to dinner in a restaurant which I again ate a lot.

Kellie's Castle.....

Can you see the bear on the tree?

Tortoises at Sam Poh Tong

Ling Sen Tong....very nice...

Went to Ipoh Parade that first day. Didn't buy much due to my stingy-ness. I bought only a hairband. The next day, we went to Gua Tempurung. We didn't go in as we didn't have the time. Besides, I went in before already. It was really fun. We detoured to Kellie's Castle. It was magnificent. The view from it's upper level was amazing. Then to temples like Sam Poh Tong. Amazing how a temple is built in a cave. Took photos a lot. Then to Jusco Ipoh. On the way back to Pei Mun's house, I bought some biscuits to bring home as souvenirs....haha...food again.

See how misty it was??

The lights were spectacular I just have to take a photo of it..

Third day there, we went off to Genting Highlands...can you believe that? It was drizzling and really cold which was great. I love the weather when it was cold. The misty cloudy day was just my kind of weather. Love it!! It was raining too when we came back down from Genting to Gopeng. Makes me feel sleepy when it rains. That night, we ate at home and Pei Mun's mom is really a good cook. It was yummy. We even went out for supper nearby her house so I think I did gain weight when I came back to Penang.

The bears were ancient almost. I seen them like 1o years ago and now.

Genting Higlands....

Michael Learns To Rock poster...haha

Took a bus home the fourth day. I was going to stay for another but since Siew Yin was going back so I thought I would be too much of a bother to Pei Mun to drive again to the bus station on the next day. A lot of thanks to her and her bf too for taking me and Siew Yin around. And her mom for cooking and bringing us to eat. I think I was never even hungry at any time during my stay there in Perak. Hahaha..

The Storm Warriors

...

Have you watch it? I watched it the first day it was out.

Lots and lots of graphics and animations. The animations and special effects didn't ruin the movie but actually makes it more realistic. I admit it exaggerates some stuff but this movie is from a comic, so it can be a bit unreal at times but that's what makes it nice.

It's also nice to see some of my favourite actors in the movie like Nicholas Tse and Charlene Choi. Wind (Ekin Cheng) character's is a character I like a lot. The martial art moves were spectacular in the movie with the addition of special effects. The moves were amplified by the drops of water or the wind which I think make it real. Really really great visual effects.

What I didn't like from the movie was draggy martial fighting...I almost fell asleep when they fought too long. The whole story was also with very little dialogue emphasising I think more on facial expression. Dialogues...I like to see more of Charlene speaking...hahaha...

So, thumbs up for the visual effects and martial moves....go watch it for the visual effects because they are really cool and even though they are so much older than they are in the 1st movie, Cloud and Wind still as fit and I think looks a lot like the ones in the comics. Thumbs down though for draggy fight scenes with very little dialogue scenes that tends to make people feel bored and sleepy ^_^.

Whether it is nice or not is depend on you. It pretty much was just an okay for me. The 1st movie was better but it doesn't mean you can't watch the 2nd movie to see what's it all about.
